When Arab Americans respectfully addressed the Orland Park Village Board one year ago, the Mayor, Keith Pekau, told them to "Go to another country." Since then no one has left and nothing has happened
Mayor Peaku is using Arabs to scare people from voting for Dodge. It’s pathetic and hopefully people see the real picture. It is also disheartening when misinformation is fed in these articles and the author of the article makes digs about Arabs. Arabs have united to stand up for their rights. Every organization has differences of opinion. Thats ok. What is not ok is to keeping using your platform to throw digs when things don’t go your way. It is exactly what Pekau is doing.
i disagree … to be effective and strong the Arab Community needs to recognize it’s faults and improve and correct … we can’t close our eyes to individuals inside our community who use the politics for their own benefit and not the benefit of the entire community
also, AU only represents a segment of the community, not all … the diversity in our community it’s important to moving forward
our culture often friends on self criticism … that’s the opposite of what american politics is all about in order to be successful
Meanwhile, Liquor Commissioner Pekau keeps pushing his eyesore signs everywhere and spitting in the eyes of Orland Park taxpayers. New auditors Sikich blamed the overdue financial statements on over 600+ days of his incompetent leadership - says as much in the financial statements - and nobody seems to have noticed. Pekau continues to be stupid enough to think Sikich absolved him of responsibility. Imagine! A Liquor Commissioner who thinks irresponsibility is a FEATURE of his leadership style! The buck stops elsewhere in Keith Pekau's village. Unless it's a campaign contribution from a village vendor. I can't believe this guy is going to get reelected - AGAIN! I wouldn't trust Pekau to put his depends on correctly. Please refocus efforts on how to remove the insect burrowed in the Orland Park Liquor Commissioner's office soon. There's only a few weeks until the local election that's turning into a boring "MAGA vs. RINO" contest. Sorry to interrupt your discussion but there's a lot of whites in Orland Park who would rather see Pekau defeated and have my neighbors and children of Middle Eastern heritage breathe free air in Orland Park. Let's try to work towards a common goal even if we have to do it separately. OK?
Really good ... we stuck it to the Biden/Harris Democrats who funded, armed and supported Israel's genocide of more than 50,000 Palestinians, mostly old people, women and children ... and replaced those losers with Trump who tends to gaslight issues in his rhetoric ...
I think I would rather have outrageous debates rather than another mini Holocaust in Gaza like we have seen. Thanks to Trump, the Israeli killings have paused ... worse case scenarios, he is no better than Biden/Harris and we'll just go and support someone else next time
Meanwhile, have you left America yet for a foreign country like the rest of the hypocrites?
Here's a partial list of some celebrities who said they would be leaving: LOL
Several celebrities have publicly stated their intentions to leave the United States if Donald Trump were elected president. Notable examples include:
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi: The couple relocated to the United Kingdom following Trump's re-election, purchasing a £15 million home in the Cotswolds. DeGeneres has indicated she has no plans to return to the U.S.
Eva Longoria: The actress announced plans to split her time between Spain and Mexico after the election results, expressing concerns about the direction of the country under Trump's leadership.
America Ferrera: Reports suggest that Ferrera is considering relocating to the United Kingdom with her family, having been seen exploring schools in southwest London.
Laverne Cox: The actress has expressed fears for the transgender community under a Trump administration and is contemplating moving to Europe or the Caribbean.
Sharon Stone: Stone has mentioned considering a move to Italy in response to Trump's election.
Cher: The singer has previously stated that she would consider leaving the U.S. if Trump were elected.
Yep. Things are really looking up for the Palestinians now. Hope they’ll enjoy their new waterfront property. But yeah, you really stuck it to Biden who was not on the ballot. I have no idea what the rest of your tirade was about. Also, I give Trumps pause in the killing two weeks tops.
actually the democrats stuck it to themselves and they are responsible for electing Trump … blame the Arabs all you want but their choice was moral between one politician who helped murder women and children and another politician who you hate lol
I completely disagree with your assessment in this article. Orland United, now known as All United was a grass roots organization born from the racist attacks on the Arab community in Orland Park. AU quickly gained speed and has mobilized Arabs not only in Orland Park but surrounding suburbs to register and vote in the upcoming local elections like never before. AU was not created to replace any prior organization but rather to strengthen our Arab footprint in the southwest suburbs where we all live, work and pay taxes like everyone else. Instead of tearing down an organization trying to do good for their community, one would expect to see a solidarity in working together for a common goal. It’s disappointing your article was written to convey the complete opposite.
that’s not true but you can believe that i guess as an excuse. OU and AU haven’t done anything except raise money and talk. We’ve seen that before. Pretty soon they will be giving themselves awards too … but since you can’t address the issues you attack the person. that’s a worse mentality
It is very unfortunate your always trying to stir the pot. Have been for a very long time too. With all that is going on in Gaza in Palestine and right here in America you choose to exaggerate and create more hate. Your using your articles just like the typical media do. Untruth and fabrication. Isn’t this what Pekau does…stop the hate Ray. Be better do better.
i write the truth and i don’t lie to cover up problems … if we have a problem we need to fix it, not pretend it doesn’t exist … demanding loyalty above honesty is selfish and is a formula for failure. AU needs to be better, not just OK … they need to be more open, more inclusive and ready to accept criticism … we don’t need more dictators
i will keep writing about politics as i have for more than 50 years and hope arab americans who engage in politics do it the right way not the middle eastern way
the phrase “don’t air the dirty laundry” is how dictators have controlled our people

BTW, How’s that Arabs for Trump working out?

By the way, I voted for Dr. Jill Stein, who was the better candidate

you have a right to be wrong :) it’s a great tale you tell
It’s a shame you feel that anyone who doesn’t think like you is always wrong. I believe they call that the Archie Bunker mentality..
