Two Guys on Politics S1E10: Nov. 2 elections portend Democratic midterm losses in 2022

Season 1, Episode 10. Nov. 4, 2021

Former Congressman Bill Lipinski and former Chicago City Hall reporter Ray Hanania analyze the surprising Nov. 22, 2021 elections in which several Republicans easily defeated incumbent Democrats setting the stage for a much stronger Republican comeback in the midterm elections in 2022.

The defeat of former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe to Republican businessman Glenn Youngkin in the race for governor. The surprise victory of a New Jersey truck driver Edward Durr who spent less than $200 in his legislative campaign unseating veteran Democratic New Jersey Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney.

The thin victory margin of incumbent Democrat Philip D. Murphy over Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli.

But the big issue is how the biased mainstream news media favored Democrats and possibly contributed to their defeat by favoring the Democrats and exaggerating their performance. Would the Democrats have done better if they felt that their races were in jeopardy?

Blame the media for the loss and blame the media for the upcoming anti-Democrat surge in next year's midterm elections.
