Two Guys on Politics
Season 1, Episode 5, Sept. 30, 2021
Former U.S. Congressman Bill Lipinski and former Chicago City Hall reporter Ray Hanania reminisce about politics and journalism under the administration of former Mayor Michael A. Bilandic from December 1976 when Bilandic succeeded Mayor Richard J. Daley, through May 1979 when Bilandic was ousted by Jane M. Byrne.
The first segment discussion addresses the real power in the Bilandic Administration, Tom Donovan, and how the political dynamics from under Richard J. Daley to Michael Bilandic shifted. In the second segment discussion Lipinski and Hanania talk about the continued polarization of American politics from Donald Trump to Joe Biden and how Biden has stumbled on several major issues.
