Is the national Democratic Party imploding?
The Democrats hit a low point in how they protested against President Trump's politically driven speech to a "joint session" of Congress. Instead of being strategic, they were emotionally ineffective

There is no doubt that President Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress was more of a political event to rally Republicans (paid for at taxpayer expense) than it was a Presidential report on how he planned to address the growing challenges facing Americans.
But Democrats shouldn’t let that, nor Trump’s bluster, distract them from the real challenge they face. Free speech is under attack not just from the Communists but also from within. The Rule of Law that should guide Americans is being twisted and bent to accommodate political needs rather than justice. Those who protest are being persecuted like in a scene from the “1984” fictional dystopian novel/movie about “Big Brother” and the rise of tyranny.
It was clear from the way Democrats acted during the Trump Speech that the national Democratic Party is falling apart and collapsing.
Why not stand, for example, and offer sympathy when Trump pointed to a 13-year-old African American child he invited who was suffering from cancer? Obviously, Trump was exploiting race and suffering for his own selfish political benefit. But does that mean you ignore the plight of a child cancer victim?
Democrats put the focus on themselves, looking callous and unsympathetic when they refused to stand to honor the boy who Trump made an “honorary police officer.”
Why not stand and later explain Trump cut Federal funding for cancer research that might one day prevent other children from getting cancer?
It was the same for families Trump showcased whose children were murdered by illegal migrants -- another ploy to pit a family’s pain to convey himself as being “tough on crime,” when he is all talk and no real action.
There’s that word that Democrats continue to ignore, “crime.”
Crime is the most important issue facing many Americans. It touches on every issue including foreigners who enter the country illegally. These illegal aliens siphon economic benefits and resources from American taxpayers and undermine the economy.
That problem trend touches on another issue in a positive way for Trump, the “economy.”
As everyone knows, Trump bragged during the campaign he would bring down rising prices on “day one” when in office.
Instead of strategically addressing those issues, Democrats put the spotlight on themselves unable to contain their disdain for the President and looking foolish.

Yes, Trump enjoys bullying people as a strategy to deflect audiences from his own shortcomings, like he did when he bullied Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who has led his people’s heroic resistance against the Communist scourged for more than 3 years, embarrassing neo-Soviet war criminal Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskyy has proven to the World that in a war, Russia can be defeated. If there is a World War III, Ukraine has proven it can stand up to tyranny. Can America with Trump’s policies of “appeasement?”
But all of those bigger issues of crime, economy, and borders, have been cast aside by the Democrats’ emotionally driven rage, and by their shame of having lost to Trump a second time.
For Trump, though, those bigger issues are the gift that keeps on giving, because Democrats are responding to them poorly.
However, the problem is germinating at the local state level.
Last week in Illinois, Democrats introduced House Bill 3458 that punishes police officers who confront individuals who appear to be committing crimes, but who turn out to be mentally disabled people.
Keep in mind that the intent is driven by the way legislation is worded. The sponsors may not know English in this case.
“Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that it is a defense to aggravated battery when the individual battered is a peace officer and the officer responded to an incident in which the officer interacted with a person whom a reasonable officer could believe was having a mental health episode and the person with whom the officer interacted has a documented mental illness and acted abruptly.”
The interpretation: The current law says it is a defense for police or law enforcement officers to defend themselves when attacked (aggravated battery). HB 3458 strips away that protection for police if the person attacking them turns out to be mentally disabled.
This is just one law of a flurry of laws being adopted throughout the country where Democrats are in control. Control of cities plagued by rising crime. All of the laws shift the burden of crime away from criminals and places it on the backs of police.
What these laws that weaken the burden on the criminals don’t address is the flaw that identifies the burden that falls on the families of the criminals, whose crimes are being wiped away.
A mentally disabled person, for example, should be under 24-hour care from their mother, father, or family member. They shouldn’t be allowed to roam the streets by themselves.
It's a big problem in America. Parents are not caring for their children, and the children end up committing crimes. When their children break the law, illegally carry weapons, use drugs, or assault police, the children are shot and killed by police. It happens a lot. The family files a lawsuit against the police and city and they win tens of millions of taxpayer dollars for their loss. The police are then stripped of their duty, honor, and freedom and are charged with a crime for doing their job.
The parents are rarely prosecuted for not controlling their children. Keeping them off the streets and preventing them from possessing illegal weapons and drugs.
That’s a law that should be passed – Punish the Parents Act -- but Democrats nationally and locally continue to fight that strategy.
There is no one I see who can rise up from this political degradation to salvage the Democratic Party. It has to start from the grassroots and needs to rise pretty fast to the national level.
The problem is America is fast mutating into a modern-day version of the fictional dystopian novel, 1984, which portrayed the rise of government oppression where lies were used to trump freedom, justice, and the rule of law. The dark concept of “Big Brother” is emerging from policies that conflict with the fundamentals of our Constitution, and very little is being done about it.
Isn’t there one American — Democrat, Republican or Independent — who can rise and inspire the country to rally the righteous and those who love the U.S. Constitution and its defense of Freedoms for a badly needed restoration of Americanism?

Another spot-on column, Ray. Michelle Obama said, "When they go low, we go high!" That needs to be engraved on the door of every Democrat in Congress. One cannot deal rationally with irrational people, and neither can one allow oneself to become irrational. It would be so easy to go "Marjorie Taylor Greene" in a fashion nanosecond or become a bobblehead doll like Mike Johnson or perfect the JD Vance smirk. There are so many role models to emulate on that side of the aisle if you like getting down and dirty.
Do not make this country any more of a joke throughout the world. Legal action is all that will stay the insanity and childlike whims of the President and his merry companion, Musk. If our court system holds, it can save this republic. If it crashes, we are as doomed as any great experiment with democratic aims throughout history.
To borrow Elon's words (I hope he does not mind because he uses the English language with that crooked grin and wild-eyed persona, to say the least, strangly) about his second SpaceX disaster in two months. Instead of his comment about an unmanned rocket, his words, 'a rapidly unscheduled disassembly" can be written on the tombstone of the United States of America.
