— Both Biden and Trump are doing the “Social Security Macarena” to confuse seniors and pretend that they care about the crisis facing the future of Social Security. It’s alot like calls to improve immigration over the past 30 years, nothing is being done at all.

— Biden and Trump spend more time accusing each other of planning to cut Social Security and Medicare and far less on what they plan to do to strengthen the retirement system that more than 65 million elderly Americans rely on as either their only source of income or a supplement.

— What needs to be done is to change the Federal Tax laws to eliminate the taxation on Social Security benefits, as many states have done, but neither party wants to talk about that as they find fear mongering voters rather than offering solutions churns out a larger vote of support.

During his State of the Union Speech, President Joe Biden vowed to protect Social Security, a public retirement plan for seniors that is funded both by mandatory taxes on the individual and by a matching fund from the government.

Biden said, “Many of my friends on the other side of the aisle want to put Social Security on the chopping block. If anyone here tries to cut Social Security or Medicare or raise the retirement age, I will stop you."

He then added "I'll protect and strengthen Social Security and make the wealthy pay their fair share."

But he didn’t say how.
